Where You Can Go Wrong With Your Workouts
If you’re not achieving the desired results from your training, here are a few reasons where you could be going wrong with your workouts:
- “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” (Albert Einstein) – your body is an efficient machine and can adapt very quickly to exercises so you need to mix your workout or increase the intensity up if you don’t want to reach a plateau.
- Having an “all or none” mindset with your training – just because you can’t fit in your usual 60 minutes of exercise, it doesn’t mean you should give up. 30 minutes of high intensity exercise is still better than no exercise at all.
- Over-training – rest should form an important part of your health and fitness goals, otherwise injuries and fatigue can set in.
- Using injures as an excuse – if your foot is injured you may not be able to run but you can still swim.
