Juicing offers plenty of health benefits, especially if you struggle to get your recommended 5 serves of vegetables a day. Fresh juices are the best because unfortunately some of the ready-made juices that you can buy from stores and supermarkets contain virtually no nutrients due to the pasteurisation process. Here are a few juices to get you started.
Great hydration juice for summer
- 1 apple
- 1 carrot (peeled and trimmed)
- 2 celery stalks
- 225g mixed berries
- 2cm root ginger
To boost your energy level
- 1 cooked beetroot, peeled and trimmed
- 2 carrots, peeled and trimmed
- 100g baby spinach
- 1/4 cucumber
To increase your folate intake (great for pregnant women for healthy foetal development)
- 4 small broccoli florets
- 3 apples
- Juice of 1/2 lime
Cleansing and refreshing juice
- 15g wheatgrass
- 2 apples
- 115g peeled honeydew melon chunks
- 1/4 cucumber
- 50g watercress
