With a little bit of planning, you can keep those extra centimetres off your waistline.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Get moving<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 Food isn\u2019t always the enemy, the lack of activity is. Start the day with a bit of exercise, especially if you know you\u2019re going to a party or function later in the day. Put the workouts in your calendar as you would a social event.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5 canap\u00e9 rule<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 5 canap\u00e9s equal a full meal in terms of the number of kilojoules consumed so choose carefully at functions.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Don\u2019t go to a function hungry<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 Fill your stomach with healthy snacks (fruit, handful of nuts) and lots of water before you go and you\u2019ll less likely to over-indulge on high fat pastries, chips and dips. When you are hungry, you tend to eat more.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Set yourself an alcohol limit<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 Free drinks doesn\u2019t mean free kilojoules. Keep in mind that you\u2019ll need to walk for about 30 minutes to burn off a standard (not bottomless) glass of champagne.
