However, I actually enjoy doing my own workouts and other activities to stay active and have been for as long as I can remember. \u00a0Here&#8217;s what I got up to in the past week:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monday &#8211; ran 2 km with clients; weights workout in the gym<\/li>\n<li>Tuesday &#8211; weights workout in the gym followed by swim at the beach<\/li>\n<li>Wednesday &#8211; bodyboarding<\/li>\n<li>Thursday &#8211; ran 5 km with clients; core workout in the gym followed by swim at the beach<\/li>\n<li>Friday &#8211; ran 3 km with clients; weights workout in the gym<\/li>\n<li>Saturday &#8211; ran 7 km with clients<\/li>\n<li>Sunday &#8211; kayaking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-286\" title=\"Variety of activities\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/healthjigsaw.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/activities.jpg\" width=\"180\" height=\"141\" \/>While you may not want to be as &#8216;crazy&#8217; or extreme as me, the key to being active is enjoyment and variety. \u00a0I enjoy what I do and also I try not to do the same thing everyday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">If you want to become more active, then you will need to find activities that you will enjoy doing to minimise the boredom factor. \u00a0We live in the &#8216;lucky country&#8217; so there are hundreds of activities that you can choose from, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>walking (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.walkingcoastalsydney.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.walkingcoastalsydney.com.au\/<\/a>);<\/li>\n<li>run around, play backyard cricket or throw a frisbee with your kids;<\/li>\n<li>indoor rock climbing;<\/li>\n<li>buy yourself a table tennis table and challenge your family and friends;<\/li>\n<li>go snorkeling (it&#8217;s amazing what you can find at many of our beautiful beaches)<\/li>\n<li>cycling (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rta.nsw.gov.au\/usingroads\/bicycle\/cycling-in-sydney.html\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.rta.nsw.gov.au\/usingroads\/bicycle\/cycling-in-sydney.html<\/a>);<\/li>\n<li>playing sport (soccer, tennis, golf, netball);<\/li>\n<li>sailing (crews\u00a0occasionally\u00a0will look for an extra pair of hands, even without any experience);<\/li>\n<li>10-pin bowling;<\/li>\n<li>gardening; and<\/li>\n<li>yes, shopping (you&#8217;ll be surprised how far you can walk when you shop, especially if you don&#8217;t take the escalators or lifts).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Ask your friends and family what they got up to on the weekend or in their holidays and there may be something that will interest you.<\/p>\n<p>By <a href=\"http:\/\/healthjigsaw.com\/who-we-are.html\">Andrew Ho<\/a>, the owner and principal trainer of\u00a0<strong>Health <\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Jigsaw<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fortunately my work keeps me fit, but I also need to keep fit for my work.
